The Storehouse Foodbank at New Life Church
The Storehouse is a free foodbank operated by New Life Church from our Danesford Community Centre for emergency or extreme hardship situations.
Why do we need to provide this service?
We recognise everyone needs a helping hand when times get tough and sharing with others is a great biblical principle to follow. We see many people struggle to adjust to the new welfare reforms, experience the loss of income through redundancy or low pay, or find themselves struggling with or are the victims of many life issues, often through no fault of their own.
Who uses The Storehouse service?
The storehouse was launched in January 2010 and in the last 4 years we have helped over 4,500 people with around 94,000 items of food.
How can I access the Foodbank?
Access to the service is through obtaining a Referral form (click on link Storehouse Referral Form 2016) from one of over 50 caring and support organisations and agencies working in our community e.g. Plus Dane Housing, Adullam Homes, Social Services, Mental Health Teams, Barnabus, Great Places, Aspire, Sanctuary Housing, CAB, Richmond Fellowship and many others.
When is the Storehouse open?
Referrals can be emailed in to Thestorehouse@nlchurch.org.uk or faxed in 01260 295929 or telephone the church office 01260 297961 any weekday between 8am and 4pm. Referrals are processed to give food out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am and 3pm unless an exceptional arrangement is made.
How can I support The Storehouse?
Keeping the foodbank stocked with food is a constant need. All the food is generously donated by individuals, other churches, groups and some businesses in our local community. Some prefer to donate finance so appropriate food can be purchased. If you would like to help, you can bring your donation to New Life Church or if you wish to discuss or donate finance please contact us.
The smallest donation is gratefully received, making a donation a habit is a great habit to develop!
